Double Click on Clip

I miss the double click to load clips from timeline to player. I do not find that double clicking on a clip and having playback go to the beginning of the clip as useful.

This was changed to prevent confusion for many users. Many users do not understand when to single or double-click and often double-click by default. Also, many users did not understand that this “Open” function would copy the clip into the Source player. For example, they would double-click a clip on the timeline, change its filters, and then wonder why it did not update in the timeline. Now, if they do that, it will work. Also, when you have to use Copy and switch to Source to achieve the thing you are describing, it is more clear that you are working on the copy in the source file and no longer the clip in the timeline.

Could this be used as a right click menu function > Open as source(to avoid the double click mistakes)?

No, because that is way it was before. Now, there is Copy, and double-click is simply select + seek, which facilitates cut and paste.
