Playing a video, no matter the resolution, became a slow experience after I use 4/5 filters for each chunk. Using stabilize filter the slow down is even more visibible.
I’ve tried also the 720p output preview, but this a marginal optimization.
I would like a button to Enable and Disable all video filters (like pressing every the checkbox of the filter inside filters menu) in order to edit and preview the result with a more fluid mode.
The button should apply to every video inside the Timeline for the selected video row, because if I get slow performance during a chunk, it’s enough believable that I’ve used the same amount of filters in every chunk.
Or at least a button that disable all the stabilization filter checkboxex, that are the heaviest performance problem, if possible.
Hello,
I’m also looking for such option. When you need to make modification I big projects (lot of video and audio tracks), it’s necessary to disable filters for some modification et re-enable it for export. It could be long and there is a risk to forget some effect.
Thanks again for this excellent software
The Crop: Source and SPR filters may need to be kept enabled, or else layout and composition are ruined for preview. Other geometry-based filters like Fisheye and Lens Correction may be candidates to keep as well.
At the time “Disable All” is clicked, Shotcut needs to remember the state of each filter. For a given clip with five filters attached, three may be enabled and two intentionally disabled as references. The “Enable All” button should not enable the two filters that were originally disabled on purpose.
With that in mind, perhaps a better name for the feature is “Ignore filters” as a checkbox on the Export panel or Settings > Player menu. Then the previous filter state doesn’t have to be “remembered” since it’s simply ignored.
A great use of this feature is to disable all color correction filters for faster preview while aligning clips.
In my opinion the SPR filter should not be avoided simply because it’s one of the most resource intensive ones especially when using 4k sources so for me I’d rather have all or nothing than halfway there.
But of course, a 2 step toggle would solve our problems with the first step only ignoring enhancement/decorating filters without touching the reframing ones.
