Hi,
I’m currently editing a lot of old stuff, mostly badly digitalised versions of old VHS recordings of TV documentaries. Those include a lot of noise (pixellated video).
I experimented a lot with the existing denoise video filters, but I finally had to resort to export a lossless (i.e. huge) file using the HQDN3D denoiser in Shotcut conservatively and then using AviDemux to apply the “Large Median” denoise filter, which resulted in surprisingly good to excellent results. They have been significantly better than the much-advertised (but largely useless, at least in my use case) AI tools for video optimisation.
Is there a way to skip AviDemux and achieve the same results in Shotcut or are there any plans to implement the “Large Median” algorithm?
