Cursor won't move to mouse click on timeline

I am using version 24.01.28, windows 11,Dell desktop. When I click on the timeline with the mouse, the cursor will not jump to that spot. I can click, hold and drag the cursor with no problem. Everything elas works fine. works fine. I have never had this problem before.
