@TLR_Pictures - Thanks for this useful tutorial. Always nice to see a tutorial involving Glaxnimate! More Glax tutorials would e welcomed!
I’m still not adept at Glax though, but I managed to create this effect easily purely in Shotcut just by adding a Mask:Simple shape filter to the top track:

See this short demo video (no audio):

PS I will wait to see how long it takes for this demo video to be awarded with its customary “dislike” on YouTube. Still happening. Not nice.

Supprimez la piste V3
Mettez le filtre “Mask Simple” sur V2 après le filtre texte et réglez sur “minimum”

@jonray
Delete track V3
Set the “Mask Simple” filter to V2 after the text filter and set to “minimum”.

The top track is not really necessary :innocent:
The Mask: Simple Shape (or Mask: Draw (Glaxnimate)) filter can be applied directly to the text clip, below the text filter.

Alternatively, a Crop: Rectangle filter can be used instead of a mask:

I really like the way both of you guys @MusicalBox and @jonray have approached this year slsider. I have learnt something new from you guys, Thanks.

Is there a easy way to do this one? VOX MAP ANIMATION:

Like I said in your other post, making the dotted line with the text tool was a clever idea that I wouldn’t have thought of.

What I probably would have done is this:

1- Create the curved dotted line with Inkscape, then export it as a PNG.

2- Import that PNG in Shotcut on a track above the map image and use Glaxnimate to make an animated mask.

3- Add and animate the map markers + text

Result:

So, two methods to achieve the same goal. I don’t think one is faster or easier than the other. It’s the result that counts

You are very creative, I respect.

I like the way you approached it. It doesn’t cut the dotted lines. It is pretty great.

@MusicalBox How would you approach this Spotlight Effect? Took like an hour trying to do it but still not happy with the process. Can you please help me out.

Hi @TLR_Pictures

I’d use a black clip on the track above the text, apply a Mask: Simple Shape filter and animate it.

I used an image on track V1 for the text, but of course you can use a color clip with a text filter + Drop Shadow instead.

Also, as it was just a quick example, I didn’t do a great job with the animation. But with a bit more work, you can easily replicate the animation we see in your video.

Hey, Thanks

That is exactly what I waa looking for. This is really great. Thanks, You helped me alot.

IN THE VIDEO I AM WORKING I HAVE SELECTED THREE FAMOUS AFTER EFFECTS Fx and tried to redo them in Shotcut.

One of them is the glow around the a logo or a person. I found this, and this one in Davinci Logo was fully made in Capcut. So, I wanted to re create it in Shotcut.

After working very hard, trying to break my brain, i finally managed to get the solution, with the help of what we spoke about few days ago,‘Pivot Point’. And this is what I managed to recreate.

So, I wanted to know what can I improve or try to do it better, what can you guys do or how would you guys go around working this FX. @shotcut @MusicalBox
