Crash latest version 26.1.30

Hello everyone.
I downloaded and installed the latest version 26.1.30 today, and I’m experiencing a crash and Shotcut closes when I use the previous and next arrow keys to navigate through the frames of my video. This happens every time. I’ve reinstalled Shotcut, but the problem persists.

I’m running Windows 11, Intel Core i7.
Thank you for your help.

For your information, as read in the FAQ I disabled the “Use Hardware Decoder” option but unfortunately without improvement for me.

Therefore, I would like to revert to the previous version. How can I do this?

  • Download and install this version?

  • Delete Shotcut entirely, but I will also lose my settings?

Thank you for your help.

No, not normally. Not unless you use some special third party uninstaller that does a deep clean. Simply uninstall as you would any other Windows program in System Settings > Add or Remove programs. Then, install another version. I have not reproduced the problem you describe.

Thank you so much for your help.

I’ve had other crashes, for example, when cutting a video or even when exporting my work.

I’ll follow your advice, simply uninstall, and revert to the previous version while waiting for another one.

Thank you.

Hi, I too had crash and speed issues after installing this version. Even basic functions like creating a split would take ~30sec and usually “not responding” would appear in the title bar.

I found memory was maxing out even for smallish (<10GB) source files.
I have reverted to V25.10.31 and the issue has resolved.
