Hello,
I am using Windows 11 Pro 23H2 and the current Shotcut version 24.06.26.
Since the update, every time I add a video I recorded with the Hover Air X1 drone (2.7k, 30 fps) to the playlist, I get the message “Convert to edit friendly”. This was not the case before the update.
Further information:
Before the update, I created a film (1080,30fps) from various mp4 files without any problems. Including recordings of the drone in 2.7k, 30fps.
After the update, I get the message (behind the explorer window, which can no longer be operated) in existing projects as well as in new projects when trying to drag a drone recording (via drag&drop from Win Explorer) into the playlist. As already mentioned, I was able to integrate the files before the update without any problems or messages.
Thank you very much for your support.
Best regards
Timo
The new version does a better job of checking for variable frame rate videos. In the past, some VFR videos flew under the radar without being detected (I made a drone joke for you). This is why you didn’t get conversion prompts in the past, but you do today. The videos actually are VFR, but maybe not egregious VFR. If you were happy with the results you got before, then cancel the offer to convert to edit-friendly and keep doing what you’re doing. If you notice glitches or sync problems, then conversion is necessary to remove them.
