I need to convert MOV files to MP4 and I know the basics but I am worried I loose quality
How can I use shortcut just convert without any quality loss?

Shotcut is not a transmuxing tool. You can learn how to do it with ffmpeg and use the ffmpeg that comes with Shotcut.

What’s the point to convert a lossy thing?

Possibilities:

  1. The file is being uploaded to a service or being used by an application (like a DVD burner) that doesn’t accept MOV files.
  2. The MOV file is variable frame rate from a cell phone and needs conversion to CFR.

Avidenux has a GUI. Use copy mode for video and audio.
