I just found this great new free web-based utility for text. It can export as PNG:

It is based on COLRv1 and OpenType-SVG font technology. I found some free web-based ones I will share soon as Generate Image/Video from HTML presets. Those can combine animations that this tool cannot. But this tool is more flexible and expressive for static text.

I discovered these things when trying to understand how to recreate the simplicity and elegance of the Kara Fonts I had on the Amiga in 1990:

Single line only?

I’ve been using both word processing and Paint.net for my titling, including scrolling titles, finding that they give me better options than Shotcut’s internal rich text tools.
