Capturing CX405 output in Shotcut

Hi, I’m new to this forum and was hoping for some help.

Is it possible to capture the output of a Sony CX405 camcorder directly in Shotcut instead of having to save the video to the memory card first?
If so, how?

I don’t know that what camera it is, but if it has HDMI output than you could use a capture card (Good capture card comes around 100 to 110$) to directly record video on you PC with your camera:-

You can press on open other which is right next to open file.

Then click on Audio/Video Device and then choose your camera.

Thank you. This could be a good solution!

It would also mean that I can mix an external microphone directly in Shotcut (the Sony CX405 does not work with an external microphone), right?

Yes, you could. I have bought a Boya BYM1 Omnidirectional Lavalier Condenser Microphone some days ago, and it works totally fine with shotcut. I also use my Samsung to use it as a webcam, it requires an external app named as Iriun on both your PC and android, and to use smartphone as a webcam you need to enable developer mode with usb debugging, than you can also connect it with shotcut.

Brilliant, thank you very much @Ar_D
