Can't open shotcut after udating to latest verson

I updated shotcut today to the new verson, but can’t open it. I get an error notification everytime i try to open it… Anybody who has any tips?

What does the error say?

Have you tried rebooting?

Sorry for late reply, but error number one says: This application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt platform plugin “windows” in ^^. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem. ( Even though I havent deleted it)
And error number two says: Runtime error! Program: C:\program files\Shotcut\shotcut.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application’s support team for more information.

It sounds like something may be corrupt. I would suggest:

  1. Uninstall Shotcut
  2. Reboot
  3. Install the latest Shotcut version
  4. Reboot

Report back to let us know if that helped at all.

I followed the steps you set up, but it still don’t work after reinstalling the software and after reebooting: /

At the reinstall, did you tick the bow to erase all the settings stored in registry ?

Yes I clicked the bow to erase all settings stored in registry, Keno40, but thanks for the tip.

I have now uninstalled shotcut, rebooted, reinstalled it and rebooted and it now works again! Thank you so much for the help Brian!
