Cant move AUDIO track back up

When I add an audio track, it goes all the way to the bottom. I can’t move it because it says, “Must be below video track.”

Okay… but I need this audio track under a specific video. I can’t move it up to that video because all of the video tracks are bunched together toward the top.

You can put audio files on a video track. So simply insert an empty video track where you want, multi-select the audio clips, and drag them up into the empty video track.

And if there is an image embedded on an audio clip (an album cover for example):
Select the clip > Go to the Properties panel > Set the video Track to none.

I still can’t move them up. I can’t work like this when I have to edit the audio all the way at the bottom to match a video track at the top. It won’t move.

This is holding me up. I just need to do something simple and add the audio track below the video I need, but it won’t move. It keeps saying I can’t.

That still doesn’t solve that I can’t move the audio track up. Everytime i add a new one, it goes all the way to the bottom

@MusicalBox made a great video and even added a very good tip in case of an album cover with the audio

This video shows that you NEED to create a VIDEO track and in that newly created video track, you put the audio (drag’n drop)

By creating a video track, it create a new track at the TOP and you can move that track down if you wish with the audio in it.

I can.

You are never going to be able to move the audio track to between video tracks. So, you can stop asking or complaining about that. If you have trouble handling the simple task of drag and drop, you can also use Cut and Paste.

Another way to support your desired workflow: never create audio tracks. Always use video tracks. Then you can put them wherever you want.
