I installed ShotCut in my MacBook Pro and recorded a OBS mp4 video of my desktop presentation to edit in ShotCut to add audio. But when added to video track changed its configuration and size to leave a black frame. I Have tried changing sizes of the video file and re-record it But always comes with the black frame in the player window… Will appreciate any orientation or fix …so to edit and add audio.

You may have also recorded more than just the presentation window and might need the Crop: Source filter (there is a help page for that here as well if you search for it).
