Can't drag and drop a file? Here's the solution

If your Shotcut won’t allow you to drag and drop a file in it as it should be, perhaps my experience would help you solve this problem:

  1. Right click on Shotcut shortcut icon.
  2. Click on Properties.
  3. Select Compatibility folder on top part and UNCHECK all the boxes.

In my case, the checked boxes were “Run this program in compatibility mode for:” and “Run this program as an administrator”. After unchecking them, I finally got back my Shotcut accepting files using Drag and Drop. I’m using Windows 10.

These are not the defaults BTW. You must have turned them on at some point or perhaps some system “tuning” software.
