The newest version of shotcut won’t install on my Mac book pro OS15.5. Its says it can’t verify the download, possible malware. Any suggestion ?
Thank you!
I cannot fix this because Apple will not tell me what is the problem even after I run their verification tests that pass. You need to work around the problem. After you try to and it says this, you need to
- Go to Systems Settings > Privacy & Security
- Scroll down near the bottom to the Security section
- Click Open Anyway next to Shotcut
- Then, it gives you another warning dialog. Click Open Anyway
- Finally, it asks for your password or touch ID.
Regret to say that I am unhappy with forcing my mac to install so until this is sorted I will remain on the last accepted version that I installed. After all Apple are only looking after my interests in not verifying the latest version and rightly would have little sympathy if I ignored there advice.
How do I disable this new Apple security thing entirely? This never used to be a problem on this mac. It is today tho. I never should have “updated” the OS. Looks like Apple is trying to cram their crap store down my throat. The whole reason I downloaded this program is they broke iMovie and refuse to update it without an apple account - which I never made because of the garbage that comes with.
Can this misfeature be disabled entirely, so it doesn’t force a dozen menu steps to install freeware?
This is fixed for the next version 26.1 I am preparing now.
