Can I use Shotcut on this machine?

Hi there!
I want to upgrade from iMovie! but I’m not sure my obsolete macOS machine is compatible with Shotcut or not!
MacBook A1342 includes 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, NVIDIA GeForce 320M, 6GB RAM, 240GB SSD and macOS High Sierra.

It really depends on what you want to use it for. In particular the resolution of your videos. The MINIMUM requirements are shown here: Shotcut - Frequently Asked Questions

You can always download a copy and give it a try.

It can work. A year ago I tested editing a 4K movie on a friend’s MacBook Air from 2011. I had to use proxy and preview scaling and keep the project simple for that resolution:
