Can I use my graphics card to make editing a smoother experience?

Hi, can I somehow make my GPU help me edit videos more smoothly? Shotcut seems to be very CPU heavy. I know that you can use your GPU to export, but I need to make my GPU make editing smoother.

Hi, you should use proxy editing (generates temporary smaller video files) and reduced preview size to have a smooth preview experience. I dont think the GPU can’t help much here, afaik - not 100% sure.
