I would like to report a bug that has been happening for a long time in Shotcut.
It is impossible to put a music track on top of the video track, the application goes black.

I do not understand, but it may be problem with how you are using it or what you expect. Audio tracks always appear lower in the timeline than the video tracks. Of course, you can add a top video track and place music on it. What happens next depends on whether the music has cover art embedded or not. If there is no cover art, the clip is transparent and does not cause black video. Otherwise, cover art intentionally appears as video, and you can disable that in Properties > Video > Track.

The video area or the whole application? If the whole application then I do not reproduce it, and it might be a compatibility issue between the UI library we use and your system’s graphics subsystem.
