My slideshow generator window looks like this and the preview is not displayed.
OS: Windows 11 23H2
GPU Effects enabled
Works fine over here. Window 10, Shotcut v24.09.13.
Could it be because of the .jpeg extension?
Did you try with just .jpg and/or .png ?
Works also for me with .jpg and .jpeg. W11 23H2, Shotcut 24.09.13.
EDIT: I’ve just tested with GPU enabled… Preview indeed not displayed!
I forgot to mention this in the first post. Problem with GPU effects enabled.

Project with the Vertical HD 30 preset.
Effects are enabled, proxies are enabled.
Images generated by Microsoft Copilot neural network 1024x1024.
Preview is not available with GPU Effects on just as it says “Preview Not Available”! I will not address that.
I will accept the bug that the window is too tall with a tall aspect ratio video mode.
Thank you, for me the broken window size is more important, due to the impossibility of pressing the buttons at the bottom of the window normally.
This is fixed for the next version 24.10 including more clear message about preview not available.
A workaround to deal with hidden buttons is press Enter for OK or Esc to Cancel.
