broke it w libjack

Everything was fine. Just missing audio compressor. Somewhere in this forum I read the following

required: libjack0 or libjack-jackd2

I went into terminal and tried sudo apt (and sudo apt-get) libjack0 (and the other). For whatever reason it returned the man page for apt (am I missing something? I use sudo apt all the time)

Went over to synaptic package manager for the first time just trying to figure it out. After I searched and installed libjack0:i386 on synaptic it said it would delete a some other packages (something similar to libjack idk) only like 3 were to be removed. I worked up the courage to click apply, then it proceded to delete and download hundreds of packages for about 5 minutes lol. Luckily the programs I care about are still functional but shotcut is gone entirely. (Now I suspect libjack0 and libjack-jacked2 were outdated)

Currently attempting to redownload shotcut
But what the heck man? Pls help. I made this account just to ask. Trust me I’ve been reading as a guest for a while now.

All I wanted was an audio compressor. I guess that is still my question

Sorry for a lengthy post I just know someone else is going through this too

Use the Flatpak, especially if you are not good at handling Linux distro package hell.

Yup it worked with flatpack and I now have the compressor filter! Wow you guys are fast, much faster than my computer could download.
Wanted to go ahead and warn any beginners like myself that I did lose celluloid as a result of my package troubles.
