Hello again! I looked at the Roadmap but saw nothing related to jobs there. I could have missed if my suggestion was framed an UI or windows
To explain my situation: I usually have four panels open on my Shotcut UI when using it: a left panel that I cycle between “Playlist”, “Filters”, “Notes” and “Export” tabs and that I use for general project management; a central panel with the video preview; a right panel with volume mixing bars and the jobs progress, and a bottom panel with my tracks and timeline. I’m leaving a screenshot below for illutration purposes.
That said, I noticed I never use the jobs progress panel while recording and editing. The only time when this panel becomes relevant for me (and I unknowingly assume for most people as well) is when I want to export my finished video, so I can track it’s rendering progress.
While it’s super easy with the current build to hide the jobs panel with Ctrl + 0, I was wondering if it would make sense to have a trigger/integration where, after hitting “Export File”, the jobs panel would open. Naturally this could be a “View” setting so people are not forced to have it on, but I assume it could be helpful for some people.
I’m happy to collaborate and get my hands dirty if that is helpful. Here hoping more people find this suggestion helpful and that is some way I can help. Thank you again for the incredible software. Cheers!
I know how to code a little and could get involved and help if necessary. Thank you for your time and for the tool
