All of a sudden, after some additional changes, there is a significant delay in exported mp4

Can you explain what you mean by “delay in exported mp4”? Is the audio delayed from the video?

Sometimes we see this when the source files are Variable Frame Rate. Maybe some ideas here:

I also wonder how you synchronized the audio recorded from the laptop with the video. Did you happen to use the Timeline > Align To Reference Track
