You did not provide much information, and many of us tire of having to dig this most basic information out of people. Like what is your operating system and version of Shotcut? How did you capture? What is the media properties of this capture file?
Also, read and search on this forum as this and similar comes up frequently. Many times the file or its format is not very compatible with Shotcut even though it tries really hard to work with just about anything. Sometimes, you need to open it, choose Properties > menu button > Convert to Edit-friendly…, wait for it to finish, and replace the problematic clip with the newly converted one.
