How do arrange the various windows eg filters, playlist side by side as tiles? mine used to appear that way, but now are one above the other. I can move them around, but can’t arrange them side by side.

View/Restore Default Layout. This will go back to when you first installed Shotcut.
Or close the Timeline break out window, then go to View and select which sections you want to see.
You can resize and move windows around by left click and drag various points in the window as I have with the red color.
