Apply filters on multiple sections, remembering font settings

After a lot of use of this amazing software, here are my suggestions for a better user experience:

  1. Adding the ability to apply a filter on multiple sections of a track.

A lot of time I forgot to apply a filter on a video track, then I do my cuts/edits, then I remember I forgot to apply a filter on that track, and so I have to manually select every single part of it and apply the filter. This can be very time consumpting. (Sometime to avoid this I just go editing the XML file with a regexp, so I think this can be easily done at least at saving level?)

  1. Remembering the FONT settings for the TEXT filter

Every time I have to write a text on a video track, I have to re-select everythng again, like the font type, the alignment, the color of the text etc.
Remembering the last choice will be a huge improvement to save a lot of time.

You can use Apply Copied Filters

  • Apply a filter to one clip and copy that filter
  • Select multiple or all other clips in the Timeline
  • Right-click on one of the selected clip and choose Apply Copied Filters

That’s what custom filter presets are for:

  • Apply any settings to the Text filter.
  • Click on the plus (+) button next to the Presets dropdown.
  • Give it a name and save

It takes only 2 clicks to apply a preset to the filter.

Ok, I don’t have the first option for applying filter to multiple sections. Maybe I need the latest version of Shotcut? Mine is Shotcut version 24.01.28

And the “custom filter preset” seem to save the configs but It loose the content of what I wrote unfortunately. It’s another added step (remembering will be better IMHO) but I will try to use it.

In the latest versions, the text content is saved in the preset.

Only for Text: Simple though.
The content is not saved in the preset on Text: Rich
