Annoying behaviour of the "Additional Options" menu in the Timeline

What is your operating system?

Windows 10

What is your Shotcut version (see Help > About Shotcut)? Is it 32-bit?

21.05.01, 64-bit

Can you repeat the problem? If so, what are the steps?

The problem always occurs.

Steps:

  1. Click on the “Additional Options” menu in the Timeline and select a submenu entry.

  2. The expected behaviour nowadays is that clicking somewhere else makes the menu and submenu disappear.

  3. What happens instead is that one has to press the ESC key (not once, but twice) to disable them, just like in the glorious old DOS times!

Shoutcut is using Qt 5.x for the UI, so this should be easily fixable.

It works for me, and this is not fixable. However, see that menu item Cancel?

Oui, mais cela déplace la playhead à l’emplacement ou vous avez cliqué.
La meilleure solution est d’utiliser l’option “Cancel”

Yes, but it moves the playhead to the location where you clicked.
The best solution is to use the “Cancel” option.

I was responding to a specific set of instructions.
If there is a clip in the timeline, just click below a track header, but yes ultimately cancel is the best option.
