Alternative for timeline markers (an April Fools' Day post)

There used to be things about white-out and video monitors, and hair-dye and artificial intelligence, but all of those links seem to have disappeared in the last week of January this year.

C’est brillant ! On ne voit pas les marqueurs, mais comme vous dites, en attendant la version officielle, ça peut être très utile.

That’s very clever. We don’t see the markers, but like you say, until there is an official version, this can be very useful.

In the 21.04.01 Beta downloaded this morning, have you tried the “Holographic 3D” option yet?

I haven’t installed 21.04.01 yet.
But what you say intrigues me!
I’ll take a look at it tonight.

Another April Fool’s Day?

Well, I think so lol. Since I don’t find any trace of 21.04.01 anywhere

It appears to be hardware-dependent, requiring a Signetics 25120.

There’s a 25120NFG listed on eBay, if you have an open socket for it.

Mon problème c’est que je ne sais pas comment sauvegarder les marqueurs dans le fichier mlt. Donc à chaque fois que l’on ferme le projet et qu’on l’ouvre à nouveau on doit les remettre.

My problem is that I don’t know how to save the markers in the mlt file. So every time we close the project and open it again we have to put them back.

You guys are so clever. Any of you have any tip on how I can remove the middle dotted line when I run Shotcut on my Pong console ?

I don’t worry about that, it seems like a nice effect when my Star Wars Crawl titles disappear into it.

My problem is that mine is a Ms. Pong, and that little bow under the dotted line shines through the scrolling titles.

What line?

Never mind, I had my Ms. Pong turned sideways.

Oh, look what I found.

(I don’t know what I did with mine, that came in the “Signetics 25120 Designer’s Kit” that they sent me when I responded to their ad that appeared in EDN (Electronic Design News) Magazine exactly 41 years ago today.)

Is there a difference between Random Access WriteOnly-Memory and Random Access Memory ?
I read the description in the PDF, but to me, it’s like trying to decipher the Book of Honor in it’s original Klingon version.

Try the Klingon original M’Kbetth, it’s easier to understand, and the concept of honor is better understood as developed by the heroine Lady M’Kbetth.

As to the WOM, EDN was published every other Tuesday, and in 1980 that fell upon April 1, and Signetics pulled off the marketing coup of the decade, when they got the names and office addresses of every original-minded digital design engineer in the country, thus enabling their field reps to bypass the obstructionist VPs of engineering, by offering to mail them WOM designer’s kits.
