What is your operating system?

Windows 10 Home

What is your Shotcut version? Is it 32-bit?

Shotcut version 20.07.11. No, 64 bit.

Can you repeat the problem? If so, what are the steps?

Yes. Can never hear audio in project assembly, but can hear fine after Export/Build.

All the common errors have been reviewed.

  1. The audio peak meter shows appropriate audio fluctuations.
  2. The right-most volume control button is not muted or scaled down
  3. In fact, the latest version of ShotCut (20.07.11) was just installed and no audio in dev mode.

My conclusion is that some underlying module has been compromised, but which one?

Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions on how to fix?

Sorry, it seems you have checked most things, but I have never experienced nor is it reported much. One more thing to check: the Windows mixer can have app-specific volume level. See
