Rookie video editor, trying to rescue home movies from the 1950 to the 1970s. I mean that I had 8mm video from my father’s Bar Mitzvah (1950) and my mother’s Sweet 16 Party (1956) to trips we took as a family in the 1970s converted to video by a service. Most of these have variable brightness and saturation, and many have areas that have a sepia tint.

I’m pretty damn good (if I say so myself) in Photoshop and I thought those skills would set me up for video. How wrong I was! Premiere was a total washout. It would have taken me forever just to learn my way around. iMovie wasn’t powerful enough for what I need done. I hope that Shotcut will be my answer.
