Will Shotcut run on 10.11.6

I installed Shotcut and was trying to make a small slide show with about 60 jpgs. Shotcut seems to have problems with jpgs, it wouldn’t run at all until I greatly reduced the file size.

Even after resizing the jpgs, it still crashes a lot, with or without the GPU turned on

Will Shotcut run on 10.11.6?

Is it necessary to size jpgs to exactly the right size?

2 x 2.93 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
32 Gigs memory
AMD Radeon R9 280X 3072 MB

It would be nice if there was a way to automatically add a transition with frame overlap to multiple clips

What are the minimum system requirements?
Operating system: 64-bit Windows 7 - 10, Apple OS X 10.8 - 10.10, or 64-bit Linux with at least glibc 2.13.

I’d say it’s sensible.
I always prepare assets before editing.
