What is "Center the Playhead"

Hello everyone,

I was just wondering what the new feature “Center Playhead” is exactly. I tried to select it but it didn’t seem to do anything. What exactly is it and what do you use it for?

When checked it keeps the playhead in the center of the timeline, while the timeline scrolls. Unchecked, the playhead floats to the right and stays as the timeline scrolls.
