Video on timeline corrupts after a failed export

made a short video, export with yotube preset, select file and overwrite it, turns out the export failed
i decided to export it again only to realize the mp4 videos on the timeline are ofcourse there but with removed sounds and theyre nothing except one frame , individual mp3 files work properly, the video files just dont, its like someone took one frame and stretched it to the lenght the video was originally set to before the export

Without a lot more information it would be impossible for anyone to help solve the issue you are having.

More information would include the following:

  • Shotcut version number (Help - About Shotcut)
  • Video Mode used
    • To view Video Mode settings, click on Output, then Properties
  • Computer specifications (CPU/Ram) (Minimum system requirements)
  • Operating system (Windows/macOS/Linux)
  • Source video specifications as shown in Shotcut’s Property window
    • Click on a video clip, then click on Properties
  • Did you use Advanced with Export settings? If so, what did you change?
  • Export settings, is the Use hardware encoder option checked or unchecked?
  • Filters used

You say:

Was by any chance the file that you attemted to overwrite the original source file? If so, restore the original source video and your project should now be OK. Then try exporting it to a different (new) file.
