Video fps changes

So I put in a few clips into Shotcut. (.MTS files at 29.97fps 1080p) I set the exact properties into shotcut. However, while editing, the video has a severe noticable fps drop, and the exported video has a noticable fps drop. How could I set it to keep the fps at the right rate? When I dont put it into shotcut, its really smooth, afterwards it isnt.

You have to set the ‘Video Mode’ in SC equal to your fps of your clips.

MTS files are notorious for not seeking accurately, which can take the appearance of an fps drop. Try “Convert to Edit-Friendly” and edit with the converted file.

Is your video source interlaced?
