Hi Dan,
Here are some comparisons of version 17.11.04 vs 19.01.24
These tests were just in the preview window, not trying to export the video.

Using Windows 10 64bit. Dual Core
Using the Shotcut version 17.11.04 64bit.
I am using 60fps MOV video files.
With Realtime Frame Dropping disabled I get around 52% of GPU usage and 84-98% CPU usage and I get audio glitches.
With Realtime Frame Dropping enabled I get around 18-30% GPU usage and 87-97% CPU usage and no audio glitches.
The GPU processing was disabled each time.

Using Windows 10 64bit. Dual Core
Using the Shotcut version 17.11.04 64bit.
I am using 60fps MOV video files.
With Realtime Frame Dropping disabled I get around 40-50% of GPU usage and 70-84% CPU usage and I get audio glitches.
With Realtime Frame Dropping enabled I get around 20-33% GPU usage and 89% CPU usage and no audio or video glitches.
The GPU processing was enabled each time.

Using Windows 10 64bit. Dual core
Using the Shotcut version 19.01.24 64bit.
I am using 60fps MOV video files.
With Realtime Frame Dropping disabled I get around 20% of GPU usage and 95-100% CPU usage and I get audio glitches and really bad video glitches.
With Realtime Frame Dropping enabled I get around 30% GPU usage and 95-100% CPU usage and no audio glitches but some video glitches.

Using Windows 10 64bit. Quad Core
Using the Shotcut version 17.11.04 64bit.
I am using 60fps MOV video files.
With Realtime Frame Dropping disabled I get around 47-51% of GPU usage and 68% CPU usage and no audio or video glitches.
With Realtime Frame Dropping enabled I get around 46-50% of GPU usage and 64% CPU usage and no audio or video glitches.
The GPU processing was disabled each time.

Using Windows 10 64bit. Quad Core
Using the Shotcut version 17.11.04 64bit.
I am using 60fps MOV video files.
With Realtime Frame Dropping disabled I get around 23% of GPU usage and 50% CPU usage and no audio or video glitches.
With Realtime Frame Dropping enabled I get around 23% of GPU usage and 51% CPU usage and no audio or video glitches.
The GPU processing was enabled each time.

Using Windows 10 64bit. Quad Core
Using the Shotcut version 19.01.24 64bit.
I am using 60fps MOV video files.
With Realtime Frame Dropping disabled I get around 44-50% of GPU usage and 77% CPU usage and no audio or video glitches.
With Realtime Frame Dropping enabled I get around 40-55% of GPU usage and 81% CPU usage and no audio or video glitches.

The newer Quad core handles either version ok.
The older Dual core runs audio and video smoother in the older version.
Both Dual and Quad use less CPU on the older version.
Just some things to consider. THANKS, Dakota

This is not a bug. Bug fixes to fix or improve image quality have increased CPU usage. Performance is of secondary priority to correctness.
