It isn’t shown in the video, but whenever I drag a .mp4 or image to Shotcut, the prohibit sign shows up.
I have saved and reopened countless times, re-installed Shotcut, even deleted the registry but still nothing works. Even weirder, Shotcut doesn’t work with any project, new or old. The prohibited sign keeps popping up. Am I just screwed now?
Are you opening Shotcut or Explorer as an Administrator (or higher/differently privilleged user)? The forbidden sign usually means permission deny from Windows.
Or the files being dragged are possibly in protected folders. That issue can be solved by reading this post.
I do not reproduce this. The screen recording is not much use since it does not show everything.
What exactly does “doesn’t work” mean? Your screen recording shows a project in progress.
Am I just screwed now?
There are a few ways to get media files into Shotcut.
Did a previous version work? If you install it (e.g. portable) does it work?
