Just used simple text with a typewriter font and I cut it up into small little chunks that are synced with a typewriter sound effect. I edit the text on each chunk of the clip and then at the end use keyframes to make it move to the middle.

Thanks for the info @scellycraftyt . Very effective method. (Good for single words or short sentences…)

I agree. A mask filter could probably be used for longer strings though
