Timeline-latency

Hello,
Latency.
Is this problem attributable to SC or my computer (Assus, Intel ® Core ™ I5-7200 U CPU@2.50 GHz 2.71 GHz) and W10
It is often when I want to go from “Editing” to “Play” or “FX” or even add an additional track that the response time goes to 3 or 4 seconds mainly when I already have more than 10 tracks on the timeline , currently I am working on a subject which will have about 17 to 20 tracks.
Thank you kindly enlighten me.
Cordially.

What is the duration of your timeline?

im pretty sure ram can affect this, i notice that when editing large videos that are around a couple hours, there is a very small amount of latency. I noticed you are using the i5-7200(u). the u is important in this case because it means it is a lower power processor and is used in laptops. Since it isnt as powerful this can lead to a much larger amount of stress on the computer, so if possible lower the amount of tracks you have. if this doesnt work than try doing only a small portion of the video, export it. than edit the next portion, export, and finally put both portions together.

If Settings > Realtime is turned OFF it will increase this latency.

Thirty secondes.

Yes my computer is a laptop.
My editing is already clip by clip coherent to the next one both for the images and the voice-over.

Real time is checked.
Thank you all for your help, I deduce that my computer is not powerful enough during large assembly and that SC is not to blame
