Sound and Speed Issue on Shotcut

I have noticed that when I replay any video on my laptop the sound and speed are fine.

However, when I do editing on Shotcut the sound breaks up tremendously on the areas that I edit, and the video slows down without me zooming in. Then there are patches where the sound is perfect and the speed is normal.

I don’t have the same issue in Windows Movie Maker.

Any ideas?

Not a bug.
Shotcut requires more performance than your PC is able to provide for smooth playback of edited video from the timeline.
Shotcut does not cache or optimize (prepare) files like WMM does either (WMM shows a hugely reduced resolution preview for editing and playback purposes)
