Yes, it was. I even verified this before replying. You are guessing how you did things in the past because you deleted your previous projects.
set time just on the PNG’s , leaving the MP4’s as they are
That is your assumption and opinion. Many others expect the current behavior because there is a field named “Clip duration.”
a whole community of users will be highly thankful
Even more viewers will be more thankful if software tools do not encourage people to put a transition between everything!

You have two options.
Recreate your slideshow with the generator from scratch by loading them into the playlist first. Save the project file. This way you can easily edit the order of images in the playlist.
Load all of you current clips into the timeline, and edit the 3 images you need. Save the project file.
at this time I’m feeling pretty appreciated for sharing your experience with me and everyone in this forum, it definitely will be as you suggest. ahwww I have one question , using the slideshow generator will do the transitions keep attached or “snapped” to the PNG’s when I insert the MP4’s? in between? or should I have to edit their duration ,one by one in their properties?
Deep thanks in advance for your kind response!
I’m not entirely sure what you are asking here.
In this example, I edit the length of 2 PNG’s to the left and right of an MP4 on the timeline.
You can also create transitions by overlapping clips.
Having or not having transitions is a personal editing choice.

I only use a small portion of ShareX.
It’s only available for Windows.
