Shotcut crashes when moving blank filter box on macOS

Hi, I have used shotcut before without fault. Now after having finished editing my video I want to ad filters. I open the filter panel but its blank/black(see screenshot). As soon as I move the filter window or manipulate it in any way the program crashes. Below is part of the crash report. I have the current version of shotcut 19.12.31 and MacOSX Catalina. My video consists of one 1minute track, a 1 minute soundtrack and a second short soundtrack. the resolution of the clips are 1920x1080. I have a MacBookPro15 ,2 , BootROM 1037.80.53.0.0, 4 processors, Quad-Core Intel Core i7, 2.7 GHz, 16 GB, SMC. Help very much appreciated!
