Saving projects

Hey everyone. I just installed Shotcut yesterday and am still in the process of testing it, but I’m liking it quite a bit so far.

I have run into an issue, though, but I’m wondering if I’m missing something or if this is actually the expected behavior…

So I did a test edit, saved it multiple times as I was working, then closed the app. When I re-opened it, I loaded the project (Open MLT XML As Clip…) and then… all I got was the video itself with all the edits I’d done. But the playlist itself was gone, as was the timeline!!!

Is there something I need to do to get those displayed, or are they really lost and I need to recreate everything to finish working?

Is there perhaps something I need to do before saving so that it does also remember the timeline and playlist?

Other then that, I’m loving the app. I especially like how easy and quick it is to use.

Use open File NOT Open MLT XML As Clip.

You can also drag and drop the MLT straight from file explorer.

Thank you! That did the trick.

It’s a bit counter-intuitive, though, as I expected “Open File…” to only open actual files (ie. videos) rather than a full project.

But I’m glad you can get everything back… I was a bit worried, haha.

Thanks again.
