Pseudo stereo - haas stereo enhancer

Very interesting, but also almost too much technology for me. My skills are more those of an artist. But I will follow your suggestion times exactly.
How does it look when you adjust the volume with the balance? With 0.66 in the direction of R, the balance is balanced again.
And, what I want to emphasize in any case: Stereo Enhancer sounds very good.

I’m glad it works for you. If one on the channels is too loud, you can try to adjust the delay value for that channel. Else, add a balance filter to even them out.

@brian,
Stereo Enhancer is meant for audio that’s coming out only on one side which picking the source of Left or Right addresses. What are the use cases when the user should pick the source as Middle and Side?

The equations for middle and side are:

  • middle = L + R
  • side = L - R

Middle could be useful if you have a source that already has some stereo effects but you want the apply this filter instead. It can also be a convenient way to apply the filter if you do not know if your mono sound is on the left or the right channel.

Side could be useful if you have a split track where left = vocal and instrumental and right = vocal only. I do not know how common this would be.
