I was using Shotcut and it started acting strange. It quit showing the video footage in the player and occasionally the player’s screen would turn green. I tried saving the project, but I then got a pop up saying that it didn’t save. It then shutdown. I had Shotcut open twice in too separate screens at the time. I shutdown the other screen and restarted my computer, since it was still acting weird. (Slow, the screens were brighter, folders weren’t opening.) BIG MISTAKE. I opened Shotcut again, but I didn’t get a message asking if I wanted my last autosave loaded. I then went to the AppData\Local\Meltytech\Shotcut\autosaves, but there were only two .mlt files. One was for the project from the other screen I closed and the other was the beginning of a project I did weeks ago. I tried searching .mlt, but I couldn’t find any additional file saves. Am I screwed or am I missing something?
It only does that if you did not ever save it. If you saved the project then you need to try to open the project file for it to prompt you. If you had used the New Project it would have created a project file to start with. If you have Settings > Backup turned on it would periodically save a backup when you save. Sounds like you never saved and the work is gone.
I did save the project beforehand, just not for multiple hours. Around 6-8 hours of work. I’ve accepted that I’ll probably just have to start from the last time it saved.
