Problem with audio on wmv clips

Hello.
I’m new to shotcut and it seems fantastic apart from one problem I’m having with the audio when i edit wmv files. The audio through exported clips will randomly double up.As an example you will hear one footstep twice. I’m wondering if I’m missing a setting or somthing. It’s definitely not a problem with the original videos and it only happens on wmv files. Is there anything anyone could suggest i try? I have tried exporting to mp4 to wmv and to wav and the audio is still wrong.

You will need to convert it, but use Properties > menu > Convert to Edit-friendly… instead of opening it and then using Export.

Thank you for the help i will try that.

Hello. I tried following these instructions but I got an error message. I was trying to convert to the “lowest” format. Here is the error message.

What is your Shotcut version?

This is like MP3 album art or a poster image for the video that shows up as 90000 fps! and results in the following:

[mp4 @ 0000000002863400] Frame rate very high for a muxer not efficiently supporting it.

Shotcut and I do not yet how to automate the conversion of a file with album art or poster image. That should be kept as is, but the converter tries to convert all audio and video streams, and this shows up as a video stream. I do not have a sample file like this to debug it.
