In response to a separate thread, I’m releasing an interface to the vaguedenoiser filter in FFmpeg. It removes noise artefacts from images by using wavelets. The TL;DR is to install the filter, look for “Reduce Noise: Wavelet” in the filter list, and be aware of the three useful presets that come with it.
