Need Help Fine-Tuning my Custom Export Profile

I’m so glad I found ShotCut, I’ve really enjoyed using it. I’ve searched for how to create a custom export profile and have found most of the info I need, but I could still use some help with a few last details. Specifically, could someone tell me what are the settings for:

  • In the Codec tab, setting the Rate Control to “Average Bitrate”
  • In the Codec tab, setting the Bitrate to “612k”
  • In the Audio tab, setting the Bitrate to “64k”

My custom profile is as follows, thanks very much!

movflags=+faststart
preset=fast
f=mp4
acodec=aac
channels=2
ar=48000
ab=64k
vbr=off
vcodec=h264_nvenc
vb=612k
g=130
bf=0
width=720
height=406
aspect=1.77778
progressive=1
top_field_first=2
deinterlacer=bwdif
rescale=bilinear
frame_rate_num=25970030
frame_rate_den=1000000
threads=3

“ab=64k” is for the audio bitrate
“vbr=off vb=612k” is for the average video bitrate

I strongly suggest removing this weird frame rate from your export preset. Without it, the preset will not overwrite the current value, which come from the project.

Thanks very much! I just have one other question – when I open ShotCut, most of these custom presets show up in the Export window, but I have to click on my Custom Export file name to set the last two presets (change the rate control to average bitrate and the audio bitrate to 64k). Is there a way to make all of my custom presets the default when I open ShotCut?
