Mp4 files changed BY THEMSELVES to .MOV files

I had a couple of short mp4 files with video in / video out filters in place which I have used on several Shotcut films without any problems.

Today I tried to use them, they did show up but the video in - video out effect didn’t work.

I tried several times without any luck. Now I see they are now saved on my computer as .MOV files … they were mp4 files before … made in Shotcut

What’s going on please ?

You will need to figure that out yourself. Shotcut does not rename files to .mov. You can create .mov files with it. Shotcut rarely does anything that you do not tell it directly and certainly nothing in the background when it is not running.
