Moving photos/videos to timeline from playlist does not work

hello,

I am having an issue with shotcuts timeline. When I add elements(photos/videos/recordings) to the playlist everything is fine. But once I add any of those elements(besides recordings) to the timeline, only the element name appears, no thumbnail and no actual content.

You can see in the picture I have all of my content on the left, and the names match the content in the timeline because that is what happens when I add it to the timeline. When I hit play nothing happens only a black screen appears.
please help ASAP!

Thank you for including a screenshot. It answers everything. The clips were dragged onto an Audio track, not a Video track. Bring up the right-click menu in the timeline area and insert a new Video track, and add the playlist items to it rather than an Audio track (which by design won’t produce any video).
