Moving clips and to make room earlier in the timeline

I often find myself adding something earlier in the project but have had to drag each clip or image one at a time.
is there a way to drag everything at once to make room where you want to insert a new clip or video.

You do not need to make room if you use cut and paste. But if you must drag, then turn on the ripple icon on the timeline toolbar. When you drag clips left it acts like cut and paste. When you drag clips right it makes room. Or if you are adding material from the Source player or Playlist by dragging, then ripple mode is an insert operation on drop instead of overwrite, and again you do not need to make room for that. These are basic operations that you could learn a lot more by watching tutorials.
