Matroska Opus Export Bug

Two issue i notice, and
then re-tested:

  1. When export to ‘matroska’ no .mkv ext.
  2. No audio track, just video [ x264, x265 tested]

I know that mkv supports opus.

If you use any preset for export and change the export format, ie. from mp4 to matroska, you will need to provide the file extension in the export dialogue box.

Using default export. Set format to matroska audio libopus video x264. Video and audio work.
Using default export. Set format to matroska audio libopus video x265. Video and audio work.

My setup:

  • Win10x64 1703
  • clean folder copy shotcut-win64-190715.zip

Steps:

  1. export to default ‘x264 base line’ - ok
  2. changed to ‘matroska’ - ok
  3. changed to ‘opus’ - no audio

Not sure why does not works for me, but
it also was that issue in the previous version.

Use libopus instead of opus for the audio codec.

Thanks, will do, but
what the purpose of opus if
it’s not working ?
And how can i short the lists of output codecs to
only once i use the most/favorite ?

I have no idea why there is a libopus and an opus codec and why one works and the other does not. That’s how the developers have set it up. i’m just a user.

I don’t believe you can do that. You could create custom presets using the codecs you want to use.
